The B: CREATIVE  Story 

B:CREATIVE aims to supports the capacity of the voluntary and community sector and invest in Birmingham’s cultural infrastructure to evolve how organisations make and share culture with communities and maximise future opportunities with an emphasis on those from diverse and deprived backgrounds.

Accessibility is key to career progress and with the B:CREATIVE network we want to enhance the resilience of local neighbourhoods by connecting and co working with community and local cultural artists and arts projects to enhance cultural events, heritage and legacy within our target wards.  

The official launch will take place on 7th March 2024.

The project also aims to connect new talent with mentors and established creative business and help establish a network that supports and boosts new talent from some of the most modest areas in the city.

The network aims to connect writers, producers, musicians, filmmakers, artist and all creatives across the city with the aim of boosting creative content through a dedicated network and access to mentorship from those some of the most deprived areas in the city.

B:CREATIVE aims to ultimately address the geographic, economic, and social barriers that currently prevent many people from taking part in cultural activity in Yardley, Small Heath, Sheldon, Bordesley Green and Tyseley. Cultural inclusion can often be a barrier, particularly during an era when most families are struggling. 

We hope B:CREATIVE can grow and have a generational legacy for the very best talent in Birmingham.
